Add a watermark to a PDF.

Mark drafts, proofs and confidential documents with your own text. See it on the page before you save.

How it works

  1. Add your PDF

Drop in the document to mark.

  2. Style the watermark

Type your text and set the size, opacity, angle and colour. The preview updates as you go.

  3. Download

    Save the watermarked copy.

Good to know. The watermark sits on top of the page as real text. It deters casual copying, but anyone with PDF editing software could remove it, so it isn’t a security measure. Letters outside the standard Western European set show as a question mark.

Questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser using open-source libraries, so your file never leaves your device. You can even disconnect from the internet once the page has loaded and it’ll still work.

Can I watermark only some pages?

Yes. Type the pages in “Pages”, like 1-3 or 2, 5, and the rest are left clean.

Can I use my logo as a watermark?

Not in this tool yet, it’s text only. For a logo, the Sign PDF tool can place an image on any page.

Will it hide my content?

Keep opacity around 15 to 30% and the page stays readable underneath.
