Good to know. Layout isn’t preserved. You get the text, paragraphs, bold and headings, ready to edit, but not the original design: columns, images, tables and exact positioning don’t come across. Scanned PDFs have no text to pull out, so they come back empty.
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser using open-source libraries, so your file never leaves your device. You can even disconnect from the internet once the page has loaded and it’ll still work.
The PDF is probably a scan, a picture of text rather than text itself. That needs OCR (text recognition), which this tool doesn’t do.
Table text comes across as lines of text, not as a Word table. For tables of numbers, PDF to Excel is a better bet.
