Pick the kind of film you have in mind and see a realistic UK range, line by line, with the working shown. These are typical market ranges to help you plan and compare quotes. They’re not a quote from us or anyone else.

Day rates and line ranges come from the cost tables in our free playbook, which are typical UK market ranges, not quotes. The number of days on each line is our assumption for that kind of job, shown under each line so you can check it. Good people charge above and below every figure here.
Where we sit. We make documentary brand films. That means real research, more than one shoot day, a proper grade and mix, and one fixed quote that covers every line above, agreed before anything’s booked. If that’s the kind of film you’re after, see our films.
The full cost breakdown, a budget planner to send to suppliers, and the questions to ask before you hire anyone are all in our free playbook.
Two companies can quote £3,000 and £30,000 for what sounds like the same brief. The gap is nearly always research, shoot days and edit time, the work you don’t see on screen.
If a quote allows two days of editing for a six minute documentary, it’s a quote for a different kind of film.
Most UK production companies quote excluding VAT. If your organisation can’t reclaim it, which is common for some charities, budget for the gross figure.
