Privacy and cookies

What we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. Last updated 5 August 2026.

Who is responsible

s4digital, 124 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, is the data controller for the information described here. For anything on this page, email earl@s4digi.com.

What we collect

  • When you send an enquiry. Your name, email address, company or brand, and whatever you write in the message. If you enquire about a shoot we also take the location you mention.
  • When you book a call. The booking is handled by Cal.com, which collects your name, email and chosen time.
  • When you become a client. Contact and billing details, plus the content and files needed to do the work.
  • When you browse. Standard technical information such as your device, browser and pages visited, if you have accepted analytics cookies.

Why we use it

To reply to you, to quote for work, to deliver work you have booked, to invoice, and to keep our own records. Our lawful basis is either performing a contract with you, or our legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry you sent us. Analytics runs only on your consent.

Who else sees it

We use a small number of services to run the business, and your information may pass through them:

  • Vercel, which hosts this website
  • FormSubmit, which delivers the enquiry form to our inbox
  • Cal.com, for booking calls
  • Google Workspace and Google Drive, for email and for delivering your files

We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not turn into work are kept for up to two years, in case you come back to us. Client records are kept for seven years, because HMRC requires it. Delivered content is kept for a reasonable period after a project and then removed.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can object to how we are using it, and you can withdraw consent for analytics at any time by clearing your cookies. Email us and we will deal with it.

If you are not happy with how we have handled something, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

This site uses two kinds of cookie:

  • Essential. These remember your cookie choice and whether you prefer the site in light or dark mode. The site does not work properly without them, so they are always on.
  • Analytics. These tell us which pages people actually read, so we know what is worth writing. They only run if you press Accept all on the cookie notice.

Choosing Essential only leaves analytics switched off. You can change your mind by clearing this site's cookies in your browser, which brings the notice back.

Videos embedded from YouTube are loaded only when you click play, and we use the no-cookie version of the player.
