Remove the sound from a video.

Save a silent copy of any video, with the audio track removed completely. Nothing gets uploaded.

Your video shows up here.

What you’ll get

The same picture with no audio track at all, not just turned down. Handy before posting to platforms where you’ll add music, or when background chat gives too much away.

Output format It plays through in real time while it records, so a one minute video takes about a minute. Keep this tab open and in view.

How it works

  1. Add your video

Drop in an MP4, MOV or WebM. It opens in your browser.

  2. Remove the sound

The video plays through silently while the picture is recorded.

  3. Download

    Save your silent copy.

Good to know. The browser re-records the picture as it plays, so it takes as long as the video and the result is re-encoded. Videos over 1920 px are scaled to 1920. Chrome, Edge and Safari save MP4; Firefox saves WebM.

Questions

Is the audio removed or just silent?

Removed. The new file has no audio track at all.

Why does it take as long as the video?

Browsers can’t edit video files directly, so we record the picture as it plays. It means your file never leaves your device.

Is my video uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser.
