How it works

  1. Add your GIF

Drop in an animated GIF. We read every frame in your browser.

  2. Set the new size

Type a width or height, or pick a percentage.

  3. Download

Every frame is scaled and the GIF is rebuilt with the same timing.

Good to know. Making a GIF bigger than its original size won’t add detail, it just stretches what’s there. Resizing rebuilds the colour palette, so you may see small colour shifts.

Questions

Will the animation still work?

Yes. Every frame is resized and the frame timing is kept, so it plays at the same speed.

Does resizing make the file smaller?

Usually. Half the width means about a quarter of the pixels. For more savings, use the GIF optimiser.

Is there a size limit?

Up to 4000 pixels a side. Very big or very long GIFs can be slow because every frame is processed in your browser.
