Split a GIF into frames.

Pull every frame out of an animated GIF as a full-size PNG. Save the one you need, or the lot as a ZIP.

Your GIF shows up here.

Which frames

Each frame is saved whole, exactly as it appears in the animation, with transparency kept.

How it works

  1. Add your GIF

Drop in an animated GIF. We decode every frame in your browser.

  2. Split it

Each frame becomes a full PNG, including the bits that were only stored as changes.

  3. Download

Grab single frames from the grid, or everything as one ZIP.

Good to know. Very long or very large GIFs make a lot of PNGs, so the ZIP can get big. The grid shows the first 300 frames; the ZIP always has every frame you asked for.

Questions

Why PNG and not JPG?

PNG is lossless and keeps transparency, so each frame looks exactly as it does in the GIF.

Are the frames full size?

Yes. GIFs often store only the part of a frame that changed. We rebuild each one in full first.

Is my GIF uploaded?

No. It’s split on your device.
